Our mission
Our aim is to prove, optimize and refine the materials and processes employed in the production of castings. IfG's research activities form the scientific and technical foundation for innovations extending from detailed feedstock improvements to advances in mould and coremaking, metallurgy and the actual casting process. These activities set standards in the field of environmental protection and labour safety as in the foundry industry.
As an industry institute working for the benefit of all foundry operators, we conduct research in joint enterprise with suppliers, foundries and users of castings to provide application-oriented and viable solutions relating to both materials and processes.
